Summer Solo-stice Challenge Wrap Up

What A Day!

The longest day has come and gone. I rode for almost 10 hours with a couple of hours of down time to rest in the shade. When all was said and done, I covered 271 km and travelled though all six counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. North and South of each. I had put the time in for the past five weeks with this one goal in mind so physically I was ready. The unknown was the mental part but knowing that other cyclists were out there also, riding your best ride too, helped me get through the rough spots.

A huge shout out goes to Jake V. (he did his ride on his fat bike) who brought in $375! Nice job Jake!

Participant Roman K. turned 63 just before the ride and initially wanted to do 63 km on the day. He decided to keep going and totalled 74 km.

Jeff K. tackled some fresh gravel on his 150 km journey and washed it down with 5 L of water.

The Gravel Gang (organizers of of the Gravel Cup) took on the day with their usual classy riding and got'er done.

Not only did Craig S. do his best ride that day, but he got up at 4:30 a.m. to take some pictures of my start. Extra bonus point for you!

Now all that is left is the bragging.

Total donations are over $1,800.00 and the donation page is still live until June 30th.

Thank you to all that donated! Your kind words of encouragement kept me focused the whole day. I couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks again and start planning your route for next year's event!
